Khana Sharar Stated Meeting

I visited Springfield tonight to plan a joint ceremonial we need to provide to bring in 5-6 new members. Since they are like our Grotto and go dark January-February and meet during the summer this was their first meeting of the year.

Grand Chapter Tennessee

Over the past couple of days I was at the Grand Chapter of Tennessee. They had around 170 in attendance officially (but my count was more in the 125 range). They hold all their Grand bodies one after another and at the same location (Grand Lodge building Nashville).

Acacia Forest #184 TCL

Tonight our Tall Cedars met at the Farmersville Temple and decided to tr some things to help increase membership. One thing we will be trying is to move a couple months at a time to another Temple and announce we are doing it at the Lodge in which we are meeting. We then will initiate anyone who decides with it being in their back yard they will join.

Jesters Practice

We went to the Shrine this evening and had a lasagna dinner which the Elissa Guild put on for the Shrine and afterwards went upstairs to have the final practice for our play tomorrow. I'm glad that we were close to home tonight since the next few days is going to be hectic as I leave after the play to take Laura's dog back to Knoxville and them almost immediately head over to Nashville for the Grand Chapter of Tennessee before heading back home on Monday.

Ormus Grotto Stated Meeting

Tonight was our monthly stated meeting for Ormus Grotto and I am happy to say we had a new member join in Kendall Lawson who received the short form ceremonial. We also had a couple extra folks present tonight and a couple indicated they might start travelling with me or at least to the State Zone Conferences.

Hi 12 Dayton

We had a great crowd today taking up two full rows of tables and after lunch and a few administrative items we had a speaker talk to us about Inland in Dayton. Specifically most of it was about the impact they had of WW II and the products they produced. It was very entertaining and enlightening.

There were over 30 in attendance including 3 Active DeMolays. We were happy to be able to donate $50 to each Chapter int he District. After dinner everyone gave a little description of how they became a DeMolay and a little of their most memorable moment,

Mystic Lodge #405 Reconsecration

This morning in our Masonic district Mystic Lodge had a reconsecration for their 150th Anniversary. The Grand Lodge officers were present along with PGM Doug Kaylor and PGM Neil Smalley. They had a nice crowd of around 100 and gave each in attendance a memorial coin and a nice luncheon.

2nd District Grand Master's Reception

Tonight was the Grand Masters Reception and we had a nice dinner followed by a short program. To start the program off this evening we had something different which was a 75 year service plaque. (The picture I got could have been better) What was unique was that they also indicated that he was the first High Priest of Palmyra Chapter #235. The Second Masonic District also presented a check to fully fund the Masonic Veterans Memorial being erected at the VA Cemetery which was one of the Grand Masters programs this year.

Adoniram Council #131 SEM Degree

Tonight was a rare occurrence for me as I was able to sit on the sidelines. We now are getting back-ups for parts and tonight my Nebuchadnezzar backup did the part instead of me. We had around 15 PIMs present and all but one part was done by our council as the long time person who did the part recently determined he needed to step aside. Since we have many who have done a major part for over 30 years, the work was done in a very good manner even with a few newcomers who are the backups and we are now alternating years, so every part can be covered with top notch degree work.

Minerva Lodge #98 Inspection

Tonight was my Lodge's Inspection in the Entered Apprentice Degree. We had 37 of our members present (including 14 PMs) and 37 visitors for a nice turnout. We also had in attendance PGM Doug Kaylor, Senior Grand Deacon Paul Weglage and State House Rep Scott Lipps. The officers did a really nice job on the degree work (per the DDGM).

Summit-Baker #74 Chapter Inspection

I attended the Past Master Inspection in Twinsburg Ohio this evening and their was a good crowd present including Grand Chaplain Jack Worchester, GM1V Robert Nilsen, PGHP Jeff Addis and GHP Keith Green. As the DDGHP indicated they did a great job of the degree work this evening for 3 candidates. At the end of the meeting our GHP gave a short story ... I think it had to do with fish. The weather going home, however, was less than great.

Bucyrus Reconsecration

This morning I got up at 5:30am to head to Bucyrus Chapter for a 150th Anniversary Reconsecration of the Chapter. This is the home Chapter for Alan Bacon and John Clime, PGC. Luckily the weather was nice and the water in the area which had closed a few roads had receded. Almost all the Grand Officers were able to make it this morning.

3rd District GHP Reception

Tonight was the Grand High Priest Reception in the 3rd District. It was held at the Dayton Masonic Temple with over 50 in attendance. REC Ron Hart Sr. was also in attendance. We had a nice program from the Veterans Museum in Germantown after a good dinner. We presented the Grand High Priest with a couple of items including a Wright B Flyer replica from Wright-Patt Museum.

ROJ Practice

Tonight I went to our practice for the Jesters degree work coming up later in the month. We had some food before hand and got right in the practice which was nice since as soon as finish tonight I am headed to Knoxville for a couple days with my daughter and to give her some of her birthday gifts.

Hi12 Meeting

I attended my Hi12 Club meeting today. We meet twice a month at lunch, eat and usually have a speaker. Today was no difference as we had a speaker for the agency which helps out folks with disabilities. It definitely opened my eyes to some of the challenges they are facing in the agency.

Charlemagne Red Cross Constantine

Tonight was my Conclave's regular meeting and we met in Upper Sandusky at the Steer Barn restaurant with the ladies. We had wanted to eat here for a while and the food didn't disappoint as it was more like an old time dining experience as the methods they used to cook are those that were used in days past instead of the current bland methods used. They also had to point out it was my birthday today.

Silvercreek Chapter #144 Inspection

I decided tonight to head to Garrettsville for the inspection of Silvercreek chapter in the 17th District. This Chapter has the unique situation of meeting over top of a bar with a Jukebox. Not to disappoint it played once during the Inspection. This is the Grand King Ross Black's home district and he was of course in attendance. The Chapter did the Past Master degree which was nice since it started to snow during the Inspection and they were calling for several inches of snow. It made for some slower driving on the way home but I made home safely.
